Defensive Architecture & Evidence

Security Built Into Design & Delivery. Not Added as an Afterthought.

At Zelvori, security and privacy are engineering requirements, not marketing slogans. We turn real-world business workflows into scalable digital products backed by defensible architecture, verified controls, and honest operational boundaries.

Our Security Philosophy & Grounding Reality

No software system can honestly be described as “100% secure,” “unhackable,” or “zero risk.” Real security is an ongoing engineering discipline: threat modelling before code, enforcing least-privilege boundaries, validating inputs, maintaining private backups, and validating controls through test evidence. We distinguish what is verified in code from what requires cloud deployment or client operational governance.

Section B • Reference Architecture

A Layered Security Architecture for Modern Web Products

Every system we engineer respects clear trust boundaries. Incoming requests pass through edge inspection, identity verification, schema validation, and domain-level authorization before reaching private data services.

Reference Architecture SpecificationPattern v1.0

This diagram illustrates Zelvori’s standard reference architecture for serious, multi-tenant digital products. It represents our security-by-design blueprint. It is not an assertion that every prospective client application already operates all six layers—actual components, hosting targets, and threat mitigations are explicitly defined, threat-modeled, and budgeted in each project’s Statement of Work (SOW).

Request & Data Flow LayersClick any layer to inspect controls
Cross-Cutting Operations & Observability

Cloud KMS Secret Vaults • Append-Only Audit Logging • Centralized Telemetry & Prometheus Alerts • Automated Daily Encrypted Backups • Documented Incident Runbooks

LAYER 03Zero-Trust Gate

Identity & Policy Boundary

Authentication & Tenant Context

Primary Responsibilities

Authenticates user identity, enforces mandatory MFA for administrative workflows, issues signed short-lived tokens, and binds every request to an authenticated tenant scope.

Architectural Components
  • OIDC / OAuth 2.0 Identity Provider
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Session Token Verification
  • Tenant & Org Scope Injection
Security & Reliability Gate
Server-side authorization on every request; MFA enforced for privileged roles; secure password hashing (Argon2/bcrypt); session revocation.
Threats Directly Mitigated
  • •Credential stuffing
  • •Privilege escalation
  • •Cross-tenant authentication bypasses
Section C • Controls & Evidence Matrix

14 Core Security Controls & Defensible Statuses

We never claim a control is verified without evidence from code, configuration, or operational records. Inspect our current evaluation across application security, identity, cloud infrastructure, and operations.

Section D • Privacy & Data Governance

Practical Data Protection: What We Assess for Every Project

Privacy is not a legal disclaimer added after launch. It begins with the fundamental decision of what data we choose not to collect in the first place.

Visible Architecture Boundary: Static Website vs. Production Applications

Clear separation of responsibilities & attack surfaces

The public website you are viewing at zelvori.software is an exported static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It operates with zero server-side database, zero user accounts, and zero secret handling. Our contact actions generate standard client-side email drafts with zero tracking cookies or external analytics pixels.

In contrast, production client applications that process sensitive customer, patient, or financial records are engineered with dedicated backend runtimes, private VPC databases, strict KMS encryption, server-side authorization, and isolated integration adapters. We never run sensitive business logic on a static host.

1. What data is genuinely needed?

We apply strict data minimisation. Never collect fields for hypothetical future features.

2. Where is it processed and stored?

Explicit network placement in private cloud subnets with geographic data residency rules.

3. Who can access it and how is it revoked?

Role-based access, least privilege, and audited offboarding processes for departing personnel.

4. How long is data retained?

Documented retention schedules with automated purging scripts for expired transactions.

5. How are deletions, exports, and backups handled?

Soft-delete lifecycles, structured CSV/JSON customer exports, and air-gapped backup storage.

6. Which external subprocessors receive data?

Audited integration boundaries for payment, SMS, email, or AI providers with scoped API tokens.

7. How are incidents and regulatory notices handled?

Defined response workflows aligned with applicable data protection requirements (e.g. DPDP Rules 2025).

8. How are AI and automated workflows restricted?

Strict isolation ensuring customer documents are never leaked to public training corpuses.

Section E • Secure Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)

From Threat Model to Production: Gates G0 to G5

We apply NIST SP 800-218 (Secure Software Development Framework) and OWASP best practices. Each stage has explicit work performed and a measurable Definition of Done before release.

Section F • Project Security Levels

Configurable Security Profiles: Match Controls to Risk

We do not sell a one-size-fits-all “secure software” package. A public marketing website requires different controls and budgets than an enterprise healthcare or financial platform.

LEVEL 2 PROFILEAuthenticated Workflows

Business Application Profile

Typical Fit: Company CRMs, customer portals, staff dashboards, booking and workflow systems.

Included Engineering Baseline
  • ✓Project threat model and trust boundary mapping prior to build
  • ✓Authentication architecture (OIDC/OAuth) with optional MFA for staff
  • ✓Server-side Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) on all API endpoints
  • ✓Tenant context injection on every query to prevent IDOR/BOLA
  • ✓Structured application logging with sensitive field redactors

Final technical controls, hosting infrastructure, support windows, and evidence deliverables are tailored to client requirements and documented in the final Statement of Work.
Section G • Industry Realities & Guardrails

Sector Realities: Why Security Controls Differ by Industry

Every vertical presents unique legal risks, operational failure modes, and regulatory boundaries. We design specific mitigations without making unsubstantiated compliance promises.

Clinical Workflows

Healthcare & Clinics

Patient encounters, scheduling, and health records require strict least privilege, separate appointment vs medical record boundaries, and clinical owner review.

Key Architectural Controls
  • ✓Role-specific workspaces (reception, doctor, nurse, lab, billing, pharmacy)
  • ✓Encounter-level access rules and canonical patient identity mapping
  • ✓Clinical data excluded from ordinary logs and unencrypted notifications
  • ✓Tested downtime, manual fallback workflows, and database restore drills
  • ✓Clinical owners must sign off on clinical rules, alert thresholds, and discharge reports
Regulatory Realities & Legal Boundaries
  • !Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules 2025 compliance requires deployment-specific review with legal counsel
  • !ABDM interoperability requires accredited M1/M2/M3 adapter certification and cannot be claimed from software design alone
  • !Software is an administrative tool; it never replaces qualified clinical judgment or medical authority
Compliance is an ongoing organizational discipline, not a one-time software purchase. Zelvori engineers systems to facilitate regulatory compliance; final compliance requires domain policy adoption, staff training, and legal validation.
